Richard Smith
Experienced growth-stage investor in sustainability and impact investing as fund manager and investor director.
My business and investment experience covers automotive engineering & operations (with Ford), strategy consulting (with L.E.K. Consulting), and impact and sustainability-focused private equity.
My investments included IP-backed industrial & technology companies and renewable energy (with Earth Capital group and IBIS AM), investing both into private funds and negotiating and managing direct investments, and where I have served on investment committees and in FCA approved person roles.
Professionally, I am a Chartered Member of the CISI, a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. I am a volunteer mentor for the RAEng Enterprise Hub and an occasional angel investor.

We have been impact investing (or ‘investing with purpose’) to bring positive change for over a decade, and were among early movers in ESG and sustainability focused investment and reporting, though regenerative investment is now required.
Specific deal and fund experience in projects/ infrastructure (renewable energy generation and energy efficiency projects) as well as seed and Series A/B direct investments bringing innovative, impactful technologies and products to market.
